This Kai sashimi knife is part of the Seki Magoroku range of knives. Many celebrated swords were born in the Seki area and in the Kamakura era. The master craftsman “Magoroku of Seki” had the original technique producing beautiful swords which were high quality and had outstanding sharpness.
This knife is a single-edged blade which is particularly useful for slicing fish and thin cuts of meat. The shape of the blade is different to most of the Kai and Kai Shun knives available. It has a slightly concave edge on one side and exceptionally sharp edge on the other. This makes the Seki Magoroku Sashimi knife excellent for thin slicing as food slips from the knife with ease.
