The Zassenhaus Mezzaluna Set is built around the classic rocking-knife technique for mincing herbs, nuts, garlic and similar ingredients. The 170mm curved blade rolls through soft and awkward items in seconds, giving a finer, more even mince than pushing a chef’s knife through the same pile on a flat board.

The hammered blade face keeps mint leaves, parsley, walnuts and chopped garlic from climbing the steel – the raised pattern breaks contact so the chopped material stays in the trough where you want it. The pakka wood handles sit naturally under both hands for the rocking action and hold their grip when things get damp. The matching acacia board has a shallow trough shaped to catch the mince and hold it in place while the knife works, and wipes clean with a damp cloth between tasks.
