The Home Is Here design places a tūī on a curving wave of native plants: pūawānanga | clematis, kawakawa, mānuka and kōwhai. The result reads as a compact snapshot of New Zealand bush, sized for a Christmas tree.

The tūī is one of Aotearoa’s best known native birds, recognised for its iridescent feathers and its white throat tuft. Tūī are honeyeaters. Their down-curved beaks are shaped to reach nectar deep inside native flowers, which is why they are so often seen working through kōwhai and flax. Each bird also builds its own song, mixing clear musical notes with clicks and other offbeat sounds that vary from place to place.
