Kai Seki Magoroku KK Yanagiba 27cm Japanese Slicing Knife
The Kai Seki Magoroku KK Yanagiba 27cm is a single-bevel Japanese slicing knife for sashimi and sushi. It has a 270mm molybdenum vanadium stainless steel blade, a hand-sharpened 16° edge and an octagonal black pakka wood handle.
What Is a Yanagiba?
A yanagiba, or “willow blade”, is the traditional Japanese knife for slicing raw fish. Its long blade lets each slice be made in one continuous draw from heel to tip. The heavier blade and thick spine help it travel through fish and boneless meat with little pressure.
About the Seki Magoroku KK Series
Seki Magoroku is a Kai knife range named after Magoroku, a renowned swordsmith from Seki in Japan. Seki has been a centre of Japanese sword making since the Kamakura era. The KK series pairs a plain, functional form with a satin-finished blade marked by a soft wavy line. It suits sushi and sashimi chefs, from trainees to professionals.
